This clip is a stop-start motion clip that has a music track over the whole clip.
The stop-start motion in this clip is quite good and consistent throughout the whole clip, however the people who filmed this clip should have taken more shots as it is quite jumpy.
The music over the clip fits the genre that they are trying to achieve, but it doesn't fit in well with the video clip. Instead of a music clip they could have used voice overs to fit in with the video, this would have also made it clearer what is happening. If we did decide to do a stop-start motion video we would only use music over video if it fitted in well with the clip and would use voice overs.
The text title at the beginning "Stranded" fitted in well with the video because of the colour and font, but once the clip had started it started to get plain and boring.

When we watched this, we liked the credits because they looked quite professional but we believe the font was not the best they could have used. All of the credits are all positioned well on the screen and help emphasise how small the person is supposed to be.
The music that they made over the video, went very well with the clip and helped make it a children's film genre. From watching this clip we have decided to add a children's film genre sound clip over some of our footage.
The video techniques used in this clip had to be spot on to really get the point across to the viewer that the character is very small. From this we found out that it is very important to have good video techniques in out clip to improve the quality.

Editing

So far we have put all our clips into the right order on Final Cut Express and it is currently 2 minutes 16 seconds. We have added titles/credits to the clip which fit in well with the video. We have also imported the clip to garageband and are currently looking for the perfect track to go with our opening.

Schedule for filming

• Start off with camera action in G block - Holding the teddy, place in bag, man from toilets over-hears
• Bench in the quad - Teddy gets stolen
• Stairs on field - Masters lair
• Nature reserve - Evil persons lair

Superteddy Adventures

Person 1 : I can't believe we've finally got this ball, it has the power to save the world.

Person 2 : We cannot let it get in the wrong hands otherwise the world will end

Person 1 : We must take this to the professor as soon as he gets back

Evil Person : Master, master, they've got the Prototype X. Bring the agency down we can get this now.

Person 1 : I spoke to the professor, he said he'll be on his way down soon, so until then we should keep good control of our item.

Person 2 : Yes keep it safe.

Peson 1 : I dont like the taste of these sandwiches, i'm going to put them back. Eat them later when I am hungry.

Person 2 : Yes thats a good idea mate.

Person 1 & 2 : Oh my god, wheres the ball.

Person 1 : Wheres it gone, did i zip my bag up.

Person 2 : Yes you did i saw you do it.

Person 1 : I thought i did.

Person 2 : Oh noo.

Differences between U and PG

In a U film, any child can watch the film alone, this is because in a U film there are no drugs, horror, discrimination, nudity, or sex. This makes it completely safe for a child to watch.

Whereas, in a PG film a child will need an adult to watch it with them because it can contain references to illegal drugs, mildly bad language at the worst, non-sexual nudity, and moderate violence. This makes it so that an adult has to be present when watching so that they know if what their child is watching could be bad.

We will probably create a U because in a PG film it contains the following;

Discrimination

Discriminatory language or behaviour is unlikely to be acceptable unless clearly disapproved of or in an educational or historical context.  Discrimination by a character with which children can readily identify is unlikely to be acceptable.

Drugs

References to illegal drugs or drug misuse must be innocuous or carry a suitable anti-drug message.

Horror

Frightening sequences should not be prolonged or intense. Fantasy settings may be a mitigating factor.

Imitable behaviour

No detail of potentially dangerous behaviour which young children are likely to copy. No glamorisation of realistic or easily accessible weapons.

Language

Mild bad language only.

Nudity

Natural nudity, with no sexual context.

Sex

Sexual activity may be implied, but should be discreet and infrequent. Mild sex references and innuendo only.

Theme

Where more serious issues are featured (for example, domestic violence) nothing in their treatment should condone unacceptable behaviour.

Violence

Moderate violence, without detail, may be allowed, if justified by its context (for example, history, comedy or fantasy).

and in our clip we wont be using any of these features so that is the reason why we are making this clip a U and not a PG
