Comparisons with characters

Aaron represents childhood because a lot of children when they are young, dream of taking over the world and a lot of children's films or programs have used this idea in there products to create attention from children. Children feel like they don’t have a lot of power at a young age and always wanted to have more power than their parents and will compare themselves to characters like Aaron or Syndrome for example as they do try and get a lot of power over everyone and can control the world which is pretty cool at a young age. And for this reason we think that these to characters would be a great comparison as they are very alike.

Distribution Companies

If we created our media product fully, companies like Nickelodeon, Walt Disney, or Momentum Pictures may distribute our product. In Walt Disney, a lot of the films that they distribute are nearly always children's film's, so the fact that our product could be a U or PG instantly helps us there. Also several of their best films have the storyline that can relate to our product.
Momentum Pictures don't specialise in producing children's films, however they have made some of the most popular films that have been out. Igor was one of their children's which was very popular when it came out and got a lot of media popularity.
Nickelodeon have made a few childrens films, one of their best was the Rugrats film which for children was a great film. So they may create our film because it has the chance to be a classic if it had the money put into it.
Dreamwork's specialise in children's films and have made a lot of great films, for example Shrek, Madagascar, and Ants which was a great classic. And because our product is a children's film that has potential it could easily be distributed by them

Final Project Evaluation

In our group, judging previous groups videos that we watched, we did not expect ours to be as good as it is. The final piece once put together and edited made the clip seem very good. The different camera techniques and angles that we used enhanced and improved the quality of our final piece.
The only problem we had filming clip was that for some shots that we filmed you couldn't hear our voices clearly. To fix this problem we used a voice over so that it was clear to the audience what we were saying.

Childrens Film Analysis 2

This clip is a stop-start motion clip that has a music track over the whole clip.
The stop-start motion in this clip is quite good and consistent throughout the whole clip, however the people who filmed this clip should have taken more shots as it is quite jumpy.
The music over the clip fits the genre that they are trying to achieve, but it doesn't fit in well with the video clip. Instead of a music clip they could have used voice overs to fit in with the video, this would have also made it clearer what is happening. If we did decide to do a stop-start motion video we would only use music over video if it fitted in well with the clip and would use voice overs.
The text title at the beginning "Stranded" fitted in well with the video because of the colour and font, but once the clip had started it started to get plain and boring.

When we watched this, we liked the credits because they looked quite professional but we believe the font was not the best they could have used. All of the credits are all positioned well on the screen and help emphasise how small the person is supposed to be.
The music that they made over the video, went very well with the clip and helped make it a children's film genre. From watching this clip we have decided to add a children's film genre sound clip over some of our footage.
The video techniques used in this clip had to be spot on to really get the point across to the viewer that the character is very small. From this we found out that it is very important to have good video techniques in out clip to improve the quality.

Editing

So far we have put all our clips into the right order on Final Cut Express and it is currently 2 minutes 16 seconds. We have added titles/credits to the clip which fit in well with the video. We have also imported the clip to garageband and are currently looking for the perfect track to go with our opening.
